Transfer Students
Students currently attending an ABA/AALS accredited law school may be eligible to transfer to
UC Hastings. A student may transfer a maximum of 30 semester units. In order to be awarded a Hastings J.D., a student must successfully complete a minimum of 56 units while enrolled at Hastings as a full-time student for not less than four
semesters. Transfer applicants may apply for the fall term
only.
Application Requirements:
- Application and $75.00 application fee.
- Personal statement describing background, academic history, professional experience, and personal accomplishments as well as your reasons for transferring to Hastings.
- Two letters of recommendation (must be law school faculty).
- Official transcript of all law school work.
- Letter of good standing from your current law school.
- An updated LSDAS
report that Hastings will request through Law
Services.
Visiting
Students
Visiting Student status is granted to students who will receive their degrees from other law schools. Candidates should have competitive law school grades and demonstrate a compelling need to be at Hastings. Visiting
applicants may apply for fall and/or spring terms.
Application Requirements:
- Application and $75.00 application fee.
- Personal Statement defining a compelling need to enroll at Hastings.
- Two letters of recommendation (must be law school faculty).
- Official transcript of all law school work.
- Letter of good standing from your current law school.
Note: Financial Aid is awarded through the school of origin.
